Why I recommend Paper Pumpkin

What is Paper Pumpkin?

One might wonder…is it a pumpkin crafted out of paper?? Good guess. I relate it to Cinderella and her pumpkin coach. The contents turn into something magical - just like the contents of the Paper Pumpkin box.

From the Paper Pumpkin website:

“Paper Pumpkin is a monthly subscription service by Stampin’ Up!—a leader in the world of stamping, papercrafting, and cardmaking. We offer a variety of high-quality products including stamps, ink, paper, accessories, and tools. Our products are not sold in stores but may be purchased at home parties or online through a network of independent sales consultants called Stampin' Up! demonstrators. For over two decades, demonstrators around the world have been sharing creativity and the joy of worthwhile accomplishments. Your demonstrator can be involved as much or as little as you like, would be happy to introduce you to new products and techniques, and wants to help you have the best creative experience possible!”

“Paper Pumpkin is the perfect way to jump into the world of papercrafting and get your creative “me-time” every month. We deliver all the stamps, ink, and paper you need to create a fun project, without any stress. Everything is precut and ready to go so you can skip to the fun part of crafting! Our subscribers always have cards and cute gifts on hand for every occasion. Your first kit includes a free gift from us—a clear stamping block. You’ll also build a collection of stamps and ink to use on other projects. There’s no pressure—you can cancel or suspend at any time. Subscribe by the 10th of the month to get started!”

We’ll surprise you with projects like cards, gift packaging, home décor, and more for just $23.50 a month (shipping included). Talk about happy mail!

Do I recommend a subscription to Paper Pumpkin?

MOST DEFINITELY!!! The kits take about 30-60 minutes to assemble. It gets the creative juices flowing. The instructions are provided for me, so I don’t have to create something on my own (but surely you can - sometimes it’s fun to be a rule breaker). These kits are for beginner (those who say they can’t craft/aren’t creative) to avid crafters (those who have been crafting a while or like to put their own spin on things). Each month Stampin’ Up! teases or hints at the theme and/or the types of projects included in the following months kits (some are cards, some could be 3D). You have the choice to “skip” a month if you choose.

Here are some of the past kits that I have assembled:

This is an example of what you see when you open a monthly kit.

The next three cards are from the Lots of Pun - December Kit

I assembled three past kits and these are all of the cards from those kits.  It really is a wise investment.

Tuesday Tip - Dress Up Those Envelopes

My Tuesday Tip this week is to dress up those envelopes.

Place some Stampin' Seal Adhesive around the outside flap of your envelope. Adhere a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that coordinates with the card that you are enclosing to the outside flap. Trim off the excess paper. It's like the card you're sending is a special package in itself.

Hoppy Easter Baskets

We are visiting family on Easter and wanted to make some cute treat holders. I came across these cute baskets on Pinterest and Youtube. These baskets would be great for Mother's Day, Weddings, or for any table favor.

I made three different sizes. The concept is the same for each.

The small is made using a 6x6 piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) - here I used Friendly Hello which was free during this past Sale-a-bration period. You can get 4 baskets from one sheet of 12x12 DSP.
Score at 2" and 4" turn the paper and score the following side at 2" and 4" as well. Use a bone folder to crease all of the folds. You will take a corner and push the paper inward to form a triangle and crease well. See photo - you will so this to all 4 corners.

You will then take a hole punch and punch a hole in each of the 4 folded triangles. Take baker's twine or ribbon and feed it through each of the 4 holes, cut off enough of a tail so that you can tie it off. Pull the corners together with the twine/ribbon and tie a knot.
I used the Easter Friends stamp set located in the January-June Mini Catalog, stamped the Bunny Image with Momento Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I then colored the Bunny using the New Neutral Shades Stampin' Blends #'s 200, 700, and 800.

I fussy cut the Bunny. I then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and die cut it out using a circle die. I stamped the chick on top of the sentiment using Crushed Curry Ink. I punched a hole through the Bunny and the Circle and thread the twine through them and tied off in a bow. Then you can fill as desired.

This next basket was made using a piece of DSP cut to 9x9, scored at 3" and 6" on both sides, following the same directions as above.

Lastly, I used a piece of 12x12 DSP and scored at 4" and 8" on both sides. I filled it with treats so you can see how much these cute baskets hold.

These baskets would be great for Mother's Day, Weddings, Showers or as part of any table favor.

Hoppy Easter to All! 🐰

New September - December 2023 Catalog

This is one of my favorite times of the year for several reasons. Of course all of the holidays that are coming up: Halloween, Thanksgiving...
